The Problem
Prysmian Group faced the need for a more efficient and cost-effective process to connect field operators with a vast network of internal and external experts, crucial for managing complex and advanced telecommunications systems.
The Solution
To address this, Prysmian Group deployed the RealWear HMT-1 running OverIT’s SPACE1 augmented reality application. This solution facilitated remote acceptance testing and knowledge transfer. The RealWear HMT-1 headset, known for its ease of use and voice-activated controls, enabled operators to access and view documents and multimedia on a low-profile micro-display. This technology allowed real-time collaboration between onsite operators and remote experts, significantly improving internal operations and coordination.
The Result
These advancements significantly transformed Prysmian Group’s operational capabilities, leading to more efficient system management, improved safety standards, and reduced costs, all while overcoming the challenges posed by the pandemic.
