Commercial Aviation

The commercial aviation industry consists of general aviation entities and scheduled airline services. This sector is responsible for moving more than 3.5 billion people and logs over 60 billion revenue-ton-miles per year. As volume grows in step with the increasing income of large populations in Asia and the growth of international trade worldwide, there is continual pressure on the utilization of aircraft and other assets and equipment. A key industry challenge is the availability of skilled labor, especially in maintenance, repair and operations (MRO).

For example, Boeing Flight Services projects that 679,000 new commercial airline maintenance technicians will be needed over the next 20 years.

The RealWear HMT-1 is an industrial hands-free head-mounted tablet that addresses such issues.

Due in summer 2017, early access hardware and software is available through our Pioneer Program.
